REVIEW – Skylight Rooftop Bar

A new rooftop bar has opened up in East London, and although it adds to the plethora the city already has to offer, its location in Wapping is sure to go down well with locals who won’t have to venture to nearby Shoreditch to enjoy their sundowners!!

Perched atop Tobacco Dock, you better brace yourself to climb some steps to make your way up there! On our visit one eager blogger attempted to get there quicker by entering into the lift – which noted itself as not going to the upper floor 😦 Not to worry, at least you’ll earn that drink at the top!

The 600-capacity space itself is themed, taking inspiration from British urban lawn clubs and garden parties, Skylight gives guests the chance to try their hand at croquet and pétanque, while three bar areas ensure drink queues will be kept to a minimum and street food stalls boasting burgers, Thai and Greek grub to whet your appetite!

Funky coloured couches and wooden seating are complimented by semi-roofed sections in case of the odd inevitable downpour and the space also features a further raised wooden seating area, offset with bright blue chairs, with even better views across East London – including landmarks such as the Shard and the Walkie Talkie building.
